HIGH POINT, N.C. – NC State recorded its second straight shutout at the HPU Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Vert Stadium. The Pack and host High Point played to a scoreless tie during the final match of the tournament.

NC State (2-1-1) notched a 3-0 victory over Campbell on Thursday evening.

Sophomore keeper Sydney Little made one save for her first clean sheet of the season and second of her career.

Similar to Thursday’s match, the Pack dominated in shots on Saturday, holding a 15-5 advantage over the Panthers, including three shots that rang off the crossbar.

The first occurrence came in the 36th minute when senior Jessica O'Rourke’s header hit the crossbar in the first half of action.

Junior Lindsay Vera was the next Wolfpacker to nearly score a goal when her shot went off the bar just five minutes into the second half of play.

And finally in overtime, O’Rourke was again a victim of the crossbar when her shot at the 96:14 mark was so close to sending the visiting Pack home with a victory.

NC State dominated the two 10-minute overtime periods by not allowing the Panthers a shot on goal. O’Rourke had the only shot in the second overtime but it ultimately went high over the all to familiar crossbar.

NC State will return home to host Old Dominion on Thursday at 4 pm at Method Road Soccer Stadium.
