RALEIGH, N.C. - Nineteen student-athletes have signed letters of intent to join the Wolfpack football squad for the 2010 season, head coach Tom O’Brien announced today.  Four other newcomers, including two freshmen and two transfers, enrolled at NC State in January and will go through 2010 spring drills with the team.

“Our staff worked hard to replenish both the offensive and defensive lines, where we lost eight starters from last season,” said O’Brien, who inked five offensive linemen and seven defensive linemen.  “The defensive secondary and running back positions were also areas of emphasis for us and I think we did a good job getting solid players at both of those positions.”

The signing class includes three of the top six players in the state of North Carolina according to Rivals.com:  David Amerson (S/6th), Robert Crisp (OL/2nd) and Anthony Creecy (WR/5th).  “As always, we recruited the state of North Carolina hard,” O’Brien continued.  “We’re proud that some of the top players in our state will be wearing red and white this fall.”
