Swimming Ends Stay at Triangle College Cup

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – NC State wrapped up its stay at the 2010 Triangle College Cup on Sunday, Feb. 7 in Chapel Hill. Jessica McBroom posted her second all-time top-10 mark in as many days, while four other swimmers posted top-three times for the year.

McBroom’s 2:04.00 in the 200 butterfly is the 10th-fastest mark in school history, while Kirsten Esplin’s 17:22.34 in the 1650 freestyle is the quickest mark on the team this season. Esplin also offered a 2:23.90 in the 200 breaststroke, while Katie Robinson’s 2:05.15 in the 200 backstroke is the third-best swim on the team this year. Nancy Radloff (53.01), Erin Gray (53.55) and Amanda Panty (53.59) all took part in the 100 freestyle.

Andrew Keenan (46.66) posted the third-fastest mark on the team in the 100 freestyle this year, while Nick Schauer (1:50.35) did the exact same thing in the 200 backstroke. Facundo Monteiro (1:51.74) and Jimmy Ross (1:57.30) also swam in the 200 backstroke, while Ross added a 1:56.61 in the 200 IM.
