No. 54 Men's Tennis Sweeps BC, 7-0

Raleigh, N.C. – The No. 54 NC State men’s tennis team swept Boston College, 7-0, on Friday, March 21, at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. The Pack won all three doubles matches and then sealed the win by taking all six singles. The win gives NC State its first ACC victory of the season, improving the season record to 8-8 (1-2 ACC).

Jay Weinacker and James McGee teamed up to defeat Erik Kreutzer and Sam Wagner, 8-4, at No. 1, and the doubles tandem of David Chermak and Derek Stephens took down Jason Sechrist and Brian Garber, 8-0 at No. 2. David Rozek and Rob Lowe took the win over Adam Davison and Thomas Nolan, 8-4 at No. 3.

No. 70 McGee came back in the third-set tiebreaker to defeat Nolan, 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-7), at No. 1, and Weinacker swiftly took down Alex Rastorgouev, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 2. Stephens controlled Kreutzer for the win, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 3.

Chermak beat Sechrist, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 4, and Rozek defeated Brendon Wong, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 5. Frideric Prandecki completed the sweep with a third-set tiebreaker win over Brian Locklear, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7), at No. 6.

The Pack will next host Maryland on Saturday, March 22 at 1 p.m. The match will be at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. No live stats will be available.
