RALEIGH, N.C. - Senior halfback Andre Brown has been tabbed as a nominee for the 17th Annual Allstate / American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Good Works Team. Established in 1992 by the College Football Association the group recognizes the efforts made by college football players and support staff off of the field.
Brown has been one of the most active Wolfpack student-athletes with regard to community service since stepping foot in Raleigh. He has participated regularly in the athletic department's annual Wolfpack Blitz, volunteered at Habitat for Humanity and assisted with leadership conferences at area middle schools. Brown has been very vocal throughout the Wake County school system, speaking frequently on the eight Wake County character traits of courage, good judgment, integrity, kindness, perseverance, respect, responsibility and self-discipline.
Brown's involvement with the area community is nothing new, as he received the ACC Top Six for Service Award at the recent NC State All Sports Banquet.
