Jones, American Relay Set World Record at Olympics

BEIJING -- Former NC State swimmer Cullen Jones was part of the United States men's relay squad that set a world record in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay at the Olympics on Sunday, Aug. 10. The pairing of Nathan Adrian, Jones, Ben Wildman-Tobriner and Matt Grevers posted a 3:12.23 to win heat one and set a pinnacle for excellence in the swimming world.

Jones, who swam the second leg of the prelims, posted the top-split time in the entire relay with a 47.61.

Jones and the rest of his American brethren own the top seed headed into tomorrow's finals.
