Four In Top-20 Give W. Golf 4th at UNCG Tournament

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Four golfers finished in the top-20 lead the NC State women’s golf team to a fourth-place finish at the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic at Starmount Country Club.
In the final round of the three-day event, the Wolfpack shot a team score of +24 (308) and finished with a 54-hole score of +64 (303-305-308=916).
Sophomore Meghan Chapman propelled up the scoreboard 16 slots with a one-over 72 on Tuesday. She wound up the Pack’s top finisher by tying for 14th at +15 (81-75-72=228).
Emily Street, the top golfer from NC State the first two rounds, finished 19th at +17 (73-78-79=230).
Julie Saleeby and Kathleen Strandberg rounded out the four in the top-20 by finishing tied for 20th at +18.
Junior Brooke Baker placed in a tie for 33rd at +22.
Three others played as individuals for the Wolfpack this week. Freshman Amanda Baker had a nice college debut by finishing tied for 24th at +19, while junior Joanna Saleeby and senior Cindel Gwyn placed tied for 42nd and 50th respectively.
Campbell lead wire-to-wire with a tournament record score of +35 (887).
