Women's Golf Places 15th at Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. –  The NC State Women's Golf team placed 15th at the Tar Heel Invitational at UNC Finley Golf Course.

The Wolfpack finshed the three-day tournament with a score of +36 (301-293-306=900). The field includes 18 teams, with 15 ranked in the top-45 nationally.

Senior Emily Street shot a three-over 75 for the second straight day to finish tied for 31st at +6 (72-75-75=222). Street had one birdie and four bogeys in her final round. She had six total birdies in the tournament.

Junior Brooke Baker followed up yesterday's one-over 73 with a two-over 74 on Sunday and finished the 54-hole tourney tied for 38th at +7 (76-73-74=223). She had four birdies today and finished with a team-high 10 for the tournament.

Sophomore Meghan Chapman, a day removed from shooting a -3 (69), had a six-over 78 today to finish tied for 38th at +7 (76-69-78=223). A pair of birdies highlighted her round on Sunday.

Junior Julie Saleeby had a final round 79 to finish tied for 77th at +18 (79-76-79=234).

Red-shirt junior Joanna Saleeby, playing as an individual, tied her younger sister on the final leaderboard after shooting a six-over 78 on Sunday. She finished the 54-hole event tied for 77th at +18 (79-77-78=234).

Senior Kathleen Strandberg shot an 80 today to tie for 82nd at +19 (77-79-80=235).

No. 5 Michigan State won the team title with a score of -4 (860). Louisville's Sara-Maude Juneau won by six strokes with a final score of -10 (206).

NC State competes at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship October 16-18 at Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn.
