JOHNSON CITY, TENN. – Using its best round of the tournament, the NC State men’s golf team jumped up four spots at finished 10th at the Bank of Tennessee @ The Ridges tournament held this weekend in Johnson City, Tenn. In the final round on Sunday, the Pack had the tournament’s second-lowest team score, even-par (288) which was a nine-stroke improvement for NC State, as the Pack would finish 10th place at 18-over (882).
Junior Matt Hill brought home his top finish of the fall season, as the defending NCAA champion finished in a tie for second place at three-under (213). Hill shot as round of one-under (71) in all three rounds of the tournament, and his round on Sunday included a pair of birdies.
Senior Brad Revell had the top individual round of the tournament for the Pack on Sunday, shooting a two-under (70). Revell’s final round featured four birdies, and he was two-under on the back-nine. He finished in 25th place, three-over (219).
Freshman Mitchell Sutton shot a one-over (73) in the final round and was nine-over for the tournament. Also competing for the Pack this weekend, senior Kent Copeland was 13-over, and classmate Hertzog Landman was 23-over.
Tennessee and Oregon State tied for the team title at three-under, while Oregon State’s Diego Velasquez led from the start to claim the individual title at 10-under.
The Pack came into this weekend ranked No. 9 according to Golfstat.com and No. 11 in the latest Golf World/Nike Coaches’ Poll.
The Pack will be off until its spring season starts in late February.
