RALEIGH, N.C.  – Two home runs led to Ohio State topping NC State, 4-0, in the second game of a doubleheader at the Curtis & Jacqueline Dail Softball Stadium on Wednesday, March 25. The loss sends NC State to 15-11 on the year, while the Buckeyes advance to 23-5.

Mendy McKenzie took the loss, falling to 6-4 on the year. Megan Miller (4-0) got the win.

Sam Marder drove one way out of the yard in the top of the first to left-center, putting the Buckeyes up 1-0. A Courtney Pruner three-run shot to left-center extended the score to 4-0 later in the top of the third.

State loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth, but couldn’t take advantage. Lauren Peters singled up the middle, Alyssa Ishibashi got hit by a pitch and Allison Presnell walked, but Bridget Desbois sent a fielder’s choice to third to end any chance of a rally.

NC State will resume ACC action this weekend at Maryland. The Pack and the Terrapins will play two games on Saturday, March 28, at 1 and 3 p.m., before wrapping up the series on Sunday, March 29 at 1 p.m.
