Brandon Yopp is in his seventh year with the NC State media relations office. Yopp was promoted to Assistant Media Relations Director on July 6, 2006, after serving a one-year stint as the office intern. Prior to that, Yopp worked as a student assistant in the office during his last two years of undergraduate studies.
Yopp serves as the primary media relations contact for Wolfpack softball, volleyball and swimming and diving. In addition, he assists with football, baseball and various other teams. Aside from serving as a liaison between several programs and the media, he also writes feature stories and recaps for GoPack.com, as well as game day publications for both football and women's basketball.
Yopp was the host media coordinator of both the 2009 NCAA Women’s Basketball Raleigh Regional and the 2009 ACC Softball Championships – both events hosted by NC State. He also served as the official scorer of the 2008 NCAA Baseball Championships first and second rounds in Raleigh, N.C., as well as both the 2008 and 2009 NCAA Softball Championships first and second rounds in Chapel Hill, N.C. He has gained valuable experience assisting media relations staffs at several major collegiate sports events, including numerous men’s and women’s NCAA College Cup’s and several NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments. Yopp has accompanied several Wolfpack teams in the postseason.
A native of Sneads Ferry, N.C., Yopp earned a B.A. in communication with a media concentration from NC State in August of 2005. His older brother, Doug Yopp, Jr., is the Director of Annual Giving at North Carolina Central University.
Yopp resides in Raleigh, N.C., with his wife Amber.
