NFL Pack Blitz: Week 6

Raleigh, N.C. - Week 6 of the NFL season had a former Pack QB going up against two former teammates on defense and Torry Holt having another big day receiving. Here are some of the standout performances from former NC State football players in Week 6:

Philip Rivers had a career day, and it came at the expense of two former Wolfpack teammates. Rivers completed 29-of-39 passes for 334 yards and two touchdowns, his first career 300 yard passing game. San Diego downed San Francisco in a rout, 48-19. Rivers was going against Manny Lawson and Marcus Hudson, with Lawson recording two tackles.

Torry Holt also had a career day, nearly helping the Rams defeat Seattle.Holt finished with eight catches for 154 yards and a career-high three touchdowns. His final score was a spectacular one, a juggling 67-yarder with just 1:54 to play. But the Seahawks responded with a last second field goal for the 30-28 win.

• Torry’s brother Terrence Holt recorded his first interception of the season and helped the Detroit Lions to their first win of the season, 20-17 over Buffalo.

Adrian Wilson and the new home of the Arizona Cardinals were on display on Monday Night Football, and despite not giving up an offensive touchdown to the undefeated Bears the Cardinals lost 24-23. Wilson had six tackles and forced a fumble on a sack.

• Rookie Mario Williams had a big day in a 34-6 blowout loss to Dallas, he had a career-high six tackles.

• After appearing in the first five games of the season, John McCargo suffered a broken foot and could miss the remainder of the season. He had surgery to insert screws to speed the healing process, but his return is unknown.

Koren Robinson (Green Bay) and Brian Williams (Jacksonville) were each on byes this week.
