PLAYING EXPERIENCE: Lettered at running back and wide receiver for Boston College (1988-92). Inducted into the Seekonk (Mass.) Hall of Fame for his athletic accomplishments in high school. A prep All-American in both football and track, he was also an all-state performer in both sports. The Massachusetts 100 meter champion in 1987 and the state and New England champion in the 200 meters in 1988.
EDUCATION: Earned a BS in human development from Boston College in 1992.
PERSONAL DATA: Born 4/28/70 in Seekonk, Mass. Married to the former Tanya Sparkes of Burlington, Mass. The couple has two daughters: Kiana (11) and Nadia (2) and a son, Payton, born in February.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS: BC led the ACC in total offense in 2005 and ranked second in 2006. Coached running backs L.V. Whitworth and Andre Callender, who combined for 1,515 yards and eight TDs in 2005. In 2004, the duo ran for 1,260 yards. An Eagle back rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of Swepson’s first five years at BC, including Cedric Washington (1999), William Green (2000, 2001) and Derrick Knight (2002 and 2003), who became BC’s all-time leading rusher. In 2001, Green was the second-leading rusher in the country with 1,559 yards, the second-highest single-season total in school history. He finished his collegiate career ranked third all-time on the BC rushing list with 2,974 yards. He was a consensus first-team All-America selection. Swepson also worked with Green in 2000, when he gained 1,164 yards on the ground and earned All-Big East first-team honors. In 1999, Washington gained 1,122 yards on the ground and earned All-Big East first-team honors.
