• NC State defeated Ole Miss 80-71 last year in Oxford, Miss., on 12/21/07
• Shayla Fields is 17 shy of 1,000 points; would be 25th Wolfpacker to do so
• Fields has played 200 straight minutes spanning the last five full games
• Program is three wins away from 700. Only UNC and UVa have as many in ACC
• NC State has not lost back-to-back non-conference home games since 2002
• Team has won 38 of the last 40 non-conference home games
• Held 76 of the last 78 opponents to less than 50.0 percent shooting

• ESPN's Charlie Creme has NC State in his first Bracketology projection
• NC State was selected 8th in the preseason ACC standings

Wolfpack Injury Report

Amber White: Out with achilles injury suffered in the summer

No. 1000 at NC State for Coach Yow
Sunday, Coach Yow will take her seat alongside Tennessee's Pat Summitt and former Texas' coach Jody Condradt as the only three women's basketball coaches at the Division I level to coach 1,000 games at one institution. Coach Yow is also 17 wins away from 750 for her career, which only Summitt, Condradt, Vivian Stringer (Rutgers) and UNC's Sylvia Hatchell have accomplished.

Fields 17 Points away from 1,000
Shayla Fields is 17 points shy of 1,000 for her career, which would make her the 25th player in program history to reach that scoring milestone. Not bad considering she ony scored three points during her freshman season. She enters today's game as the third leading scorer in the ACC at 18.9 points per game.

Dec. 29th Game Moved to a 1 p.m. Start
The NC State women’s basketball game time for Monday, Dec. 29, has been moved up one hour to a 1 p.m. tip time against Jacksonville State in Reynolds Coliseum. This game falls on the same day the football team takes on Rutgers in the Papajohns.com Bowl at 3 p.m., in Birmingham, Ala. The athletic department felt it was in the best interest to accommodate our fans that wish to stay for the basketball game and then catch the football game later that afternoon.

Fields, Gartrell Lead ACC in Minutes Played
Shayla Fields and Nikitta Gartrell rank first and second in minutes played this season in the ACC. Fields narrowly leads at 36.8 minutes per game as she has played the full 40 minutes the last five consecutive games and six times overall, while Gartrell is at 36.1 minutes and has gone the distance three times so far. See the next note -  this is certainly nothing new for Fields.

Shayla Fields Forever
After leading the ACC in minutes played last season, senior Shayla Fields has picked up where she left off last season - leading the conference at 36.8 minutes per game. She has played all but 29 minutes so far in nine games this season and has played every minute of the last five (200 minutes) games since fouling out in the final minute against Yale on Nov. 22.

Free Throws Remains Steady
NC State is third in the ACC in free throw shooting at 72.9 percent (94-for-129). The Pack has shot better than 75.0 percent in seven of the nine games so far this season. Nikitta Gartrell ranks 11th in the league at 76.9 percent (20-for-26).
