As a junior (2007): Converted to the bullpen and had an outstanding season as the Wolfpack’s closer ... Became just the fifth pitcher in NC State history to record 10 saves or more in a single season ... Seven of his 11 saves were more than one full inning in duration, and four were two innings or longer ... Stranded 14 of 20 inherited runners ... Did not allow a run in his first 11 appearances and his first 15 2/3 innings, and did not allow an earned run in his first 13 appearances and his first 18 innings ... Was equally impressive against ACC and non-ACC opponents ... Went 1-2 with a 1.88 ERA and six saves in ACC games, and 2-0 with a 1.52 ERA and five saves in non-league games ... Did not allow a run in the ninth inning all year, covering 23 2/3 innings ... Worked 2 1/3 scoreless innings March 3 at East Carolina to record his first victory of the season, a 5-4 win in 10 innings ... Went 1 1/3 innings in two different stints on the mound March 23 at Wake Forest to get his second win of the season ... Spent 1 2/3 innings in left field between his two times on the mound in that game ... Got his third win of the season May 26 with 3 1/3 scoreless innings vs. Georgia Tech in the ACC Tournament.

As a sophomore (2006): Made his collegiate debut February 4 vs. Hofstra and pitched six perfect innings ... Nailed down the Wolfpack’s three-game sweep of Virginia on April 2 with eight innings of six-hit baseball, allowing one run in an 8-1 triumph ... Helped NC State win the series the next weekend vs. Wake Forest with seven shutout innings, allowing just three hits ... Was a tough-luck pitcher as NC State scored just 17 runs in his six losses, an average of 2.8 runs per game.

At WCU (2004-05): Redshirted in 2004.

Summer league: Played for Madison of the Northwoods League in 2006 ... Was 5-2 with a 1.38 ERA in 10 appearances ... Made eight starts and threw 58 2/3 innings, allowing 52 hits, walking 10 and striking out 34 ... Limited opposing hitters to a .251 average.

High school: Played for coach Billy Shepard at Tuscola High School ... Went 8-1 with a 1.61 ERA as a senior in 2005 ... Made 10 appearances, nine of them starts, and threw seven complete games and three shutouts ... Allowed 34 hits, walked 12 and struck out 81 in 62 innings ... Earned all-state honors and was named all-conference for the third time ... Played in the State Games in 2001 and 2002 ... Was a member of the National Honor Society.
