As a Sophomore (2008-09) Started each of the last 10 games at point guard … Averaged 23.7 minutes over the last 11 games overall … He had played just 18 total minutes spanning 12 games dating back to the ECU game on December 17 … Averaged 9.9 points and 3.8 assists over those last 11 games … Averaged 11.1 points over the last eight games, including scoring in double figures in back-to-back games for the first time in his career, and in four of those games overall … Shot 60.4 percent (32-53) from the field and 53.1 percent (17-32) from three-point range in those last eight games of the season … Playing in front of family and friends at Miami, he tied his career-high with 19 points … Also hit a career-high five three-pointers that game … Went for five points, five boards, six assists and just one turnover in the win over Boston College … Had 18 points at North Carolina, the first time in is career he led the Pack in scoring … Hit 7-of-8 shots, including all four three-pointers … Scored 14 points at Georgia Tech … Was 4-of-6 from the field and hit all five of his free throws … Finished with six points in the win over Wake Forest, including hitting all four free throws in the second half, and both in the final seconds … Returned to the starting lineup for the first time in 15 games at Virginia Tech … Played a career-best 36 minutes, and finished with nine points and six assists … Returned to action for the start of ACC play, after he was hampered by a pair of injuries where he played just two minutes in a five game span … Before the Virginia Tech game, he had played just 5.3 minutes a game and averaging 0.7 points in the first seven ACC games of the season, not seeing action in four of those games … Saw his first action in four games, playing 15 minutes off the bench against NC Central … Missed both the Loyola and Towson games after suffering a sprained ankle in practice after Christmas … Missed his first career game, when he sat out the Lipscomb game, and only played two first-half minutes against Marquette, after suffering a cut on his elbow against East Carolina on December 17 … Was the Pack's starting point guard in six straight games before the injuries … His five steals at Davidson were a career-best … Hit 2-of-4 three-pointers against East Carolina, including one from beyond halfcourt as time expired in the first half … Pitched in with nine points and six rebounds in the win over UNC Greensboro … Also finshed with seven assists and no turnovers in that game, the second-most assists in a game in his career and the most assists without a turnover for him … The 7:0 assists-to-turnover ratio was one of the top games in the ACC.
As a Freshman (2007-08) Probably the most improved player on the Wolfpack squad at the end of the season, he rejoined the starting lineup for the last 10 games of the season … Averaged 26.1 minutes and 6.0 points over the last 15 outings … Also averaged 3.3 assists in the last 15 games, including a season-high of nine in the home loss to North Carolina … In ACC only stats, finished the season ninth in the ACC, and first among all freshmen, in assist/turnover ratio at 1.46 … Posted a career-best 18 points in the home loss to Duke … Was a perfect 4-of-4 from three-point range, and hit 6-of-7 from the field overall … Also played a season-high 32 minutes … Scored 11 points against Virginia Tech, hitting three of his five three point attempts … At Florida State, scored seven points - all of them came from the free throw line … Scored nine points against Georgia Tech, shooting 4-8 from the field … Took over the starter’s job at point guard following the injury to Farnold Degand - he started the next five games before coming off the bench in the next six … Played 27 minutes against Miami including all of the overtime, he nailed two second-half three-pointers in that contest as well … Had one of his best outings of the season in the win over Presbyterian, scoring seven points and hitting two three-pointers … Hit 6-of-8 free throws, including all four in the final minute, to finish with six points against Cincinnati … Missed all of preseason practice after suffering a torn thumb ligament during a skill workout in September. Under went surgery, and returned to practice on November 5, after missing both exhibition games.
In High School Played for Coach Marcos Rodriguez at Miami’s Michael M. Krop High School … Averaged 20.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists as a senior … He was tabbed the Class 6-A State Player of the Year … First-team all-state and all-Dade County … Miami-Dade County Co-Player of the Year … Miami Herald’s Player of the Year … Team reached the 6-A state quarterfinals, and finished 28-4 … Earned Co-MVP honors at Florida’s 2007 Senior Showcase … Led the East squad with 15 points and four assists in 18 minutes of action … Also finished second in the Three-Point Shootout … MVP of the Dade-Broward All-Star game, scoring all 12 points in the second half, 12 of the team’s final 16 points for the win … Played his first two years of high school basketball at St. Patrick’s in New Jersey … Named second-team all-state as a sophomore … Rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 14 player in Florida by rivals.com.
