Men's T&F 8th at NCAA Regional; Vegh Heads to NCAAs

NC State men's track and field finished eighth at the NCAA East Regional as the second Wolfpack athlete advanced to the NCAA Championships on the second and final day of competition in Tallahassee, Fla.
Tibor Vegh finished fourth in the steeplechase to advance to the NCAA Championships for the second straight season with a 8:52.31.
John Martinez, who was ranked ninth nationally in the steeplechase heading into the regional, finished seventh to just miss making the national meet as an automatic qualifier. He will now go into a pool and should make the NCAA Championships as an at-large selection.
The NC State 4x100 relay team of Kevin Hutton, Reggie Reese, A'Tolani Akinkuotu and Dexter Adams posted a 40.16 to finish sixth.
