July 12, 2013
RALEIGH, N.C. - Based on the splendor and rave reviews of the inaugural event in 2012, the 2013 NC State Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be another night to remember. Tickets will go on sale next Monday, July 15. The black-tie-optional gala will be held on Friday, Nov. 22 in Reynolds Coliseum, the evening before the Wolfpack football team takes on ECU.
Fans can guarantee their tickets to the 2013 gala at last year's prices by purchasing before August 31. The event will begin with cocktails and heavy hor d'oeuvres, followed by the spectacular induction ceremony, and will conclude with a dessert social and autograph session.
The second class of the NC State Athletic Hall of Fame includes two of the most accomplished coaches in Wolfpack history and eight athletes who distinguished themselves nationally in baseball, basketball, football, swimming, track and cross country and wrestling.
Those to be inducted at the gala are the winningest football coach in school history Earle Edwards; men's basketball coach Norm Sloan, who led the Pack to the 1974 national championship; All-American men's basketball players Ronnie Shavlik and Tommy Burleson, who rank first and second in school history in career rebounding; women's basketball player Andrea Stinson, State's only two-time Kodak All-American; baseball pitcher Mike Caldwell, the 1971 ACC Player of the Year; football player Torry Holt, the Pack's all-time leading receiver; national championship distance runner Betty Springs Geiger, four-time All-American and former national champion swimmer Steve Gregg and national champion wrestler Sylvester Terkay.
Adult tickets are $75. Youth (age 17 and under) tickets are $30. Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets at $50 each. These ticket prices are guaranteed through August 31 and subject to increase following that date.
