    Aug. 1, 2013

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State Athletics Communications office has announced the addition of two staff members.  Josh Rattray will join the staff as the Director of Communications and his primary emphasis will be overseeing the communications efforts for the men's basketball program.  In addition, Justin Wilson has been promoted to Assistant Director of Communications after working as a communications assistant for the past year.

Rattray joins the Wolfpack following a four-year stint in the sports information office at Butler University, where he served as the primary contact for numerous sports and worked closely with the men's basketball team. He was heavily involved in the school's media efforts during the Bulldogs' back-to-back runs to the national championship game in 2010 and 2011.

"Josh is a great addition to the communications staff," said Annabelle Myers, Assistant Athletics Director for Communications.  "He has worn many hats in his career, and those experiences will be beneficial to our unit, as well as to the sports that he will work with on a day-to-day basis."

Prior to his tenure at Butler, he spent a year with the Horizon League office as assistant director of communications. There, he was charged with managing the league's league's communications technologies, while also serving as the primary media contact for women's basketball among other sports.

Rattray also worked at Michigan State University, where he was the primary contact for several sports and the secondary contact for the nationally-ranked men's basketball squad.

In his role with NC State, Rattray will add to the day-to-day and strategic leadership of the Athletics Communications unit and and will collaborate with all External Operations units. He will also be the primary contact for the women's golf team.

A 2006 Butler graduate, Rattray earned a B.A. in media arts. As a student, he broadcast more than 90 women's basketball games on the radio and also gained valuable writing/editorial experience with the High School Sports Publications, Inc., in Crown Point, Ind.

Wilson enters his fourth year as a member of the NC State athletics communications staff, following a year as a postgraduate intern and two years as a student assistant. During his time with the Pack, he has served as the primary contact for the gymnastics, men's tennis, swimming & diving and wrestling programs.

"Justin has been a key contributor to our communications efforts for the past several years, and we are thrilled that he will now continue in a full-time role," Myers added.  "As an NC State alum, he brings great passion to our staff."

As an undergraduate, Wilson worked multiple events with the ACC office as a member of the media staff, including the ACC basketball, football and soccer championships.  He graduated with a B.A. in communication with a concentration in media.
