Assistant Director of Athletics Communications
Cavan Fosnes enters his fourth year as a member of the NC State athletics communications staff, and second as an assistant director of communications, serving as the primary contact for baseball and men's soccer.
In two seasons under Fosnes, @NCStateBaseball has grown into the eighth most-followed Twitter account in college baseball, crossing the 17,000 follower threshold during the Pack's 2013 College World Series run.
The 2013 baseball season also produced NC State's most viral video ever: an amazing catch by Wolfpack center fielder Brett Williams. Williams' catch has amassed over 4.5 million views on YouTube since occurring on February 27, making it the most watched play in college baseball history.
Fosnes joined NC State in 2010 as an intern covering women's tennis, gymnastics, and rifle. Halfway through the 2011-12 academic year, he transitioned to baseball and women's golf. At the conclusion of the 2012 baseball season, Fosnes earned full-time status with a promotion to assistant director.
Prior to arriving at NC State, Fosnes spent two years as a graduate assistant with Georgia State sports communications while earning his master's in sports administration. From 2008 to 2010, he served as the primary contact for Georgia State's women's soccer and men's and women's golf teams.
Fosnes graduated in 2007 with a B.A. in Creative Writing/English from Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. From 2003-05, he played NJCAA basketball at Oxford College of Emory University.
Originally from Springfield, Tenn., Fosnes currently resides in Raleigh.
