Jonathan Brinson is currently in his first year as intern strength and conditioning coach at NC State. Prior to his arrival, Brinson served as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Valdosta State University in Georgia. During this time there, he assisted with football, the 20212 DII National champions, as well as designed and implemented strength programs for men's basketball, men's and women's tennis, women's soccer and the red hot's dance team.
Prior to working at VSU, Brinson was an intern with the University of Michigan olympic sports strength and conditioning staff, working with 21 varsity sports for two semesters.
Brinson walked-on to Mount Olive College's basketball team, and was a member of the 2009-10 NCAA DII Conference Carolina's regular season and 2010 tournament championship team. During his time at Mount Olive, he severed as a wellness and fitness coach for the college.
Brinson received his bachelor's degree in exercise science from MOC in August of 2010, and his master's degree in health and physical education from VSU in May of 2013. He is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
