Bryan Tatum was hired in July 2011 as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for NC State. He will work with women's basketball, men's and women's golf, rifle and the track & field and cross country programs.
Tatum previously worked at Western Carolina as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for the Catamounts. There he worked with current NC State women's basketball coach Kellie Harper, assistant coaches Stephanie McCormick and Jon Harper, and graduate assistant and former WCU basketball standout Jessica Jackson.
In addition to assisting with the strength and conditioning ofthe Catamount football team, Tatum worked with women's basketball, women's soccer, softball, men's and women's track & field, volleyball and cheerleading.
He also spent two years as the Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coordinator at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky.
Tatum played football at West Liberty State College in West Liberty, W.Va., earning his bachelor's of science degree in exercise physiology, with a minor in physical therapy, in 2005. He was a team captain his junior and senior seasons, and was a part of the conference championship squad in 2000. In 2002, Tatum was an All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection at defensive back.
Following his graduation, Tatum stayed on staff at West Liberty, serving as the Strength & Conditioning Coach, while also working as an Assistant Football and co-Head Track & Field Coach for the Hilltoppers.
Tatum completed his Master's in exercise physiology in 2008 while working in the weight room at Western Kentucky.
He is married to the former Alison Poe of Barboursville, W.Va., and the couple has two children.
