Annabelle Vaughan is in her seventh year directing the media relations office for the Wolfpack Athletics Department. She was named Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations in May of 2000 after joining the staff in October of 1998. Vaughan and her staff coordinate all of the media relations for the Wolfpack athletic program. Her office writes and edits all athletic publications, including game programs and media guides, and coordinates all press conference and interviews with Wolfpack student-athletes, coaches and staff. During her career, Vaughan has earned more than 21 CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) for excellence in publications and for writing. In 2001, she was the national winner in the CoSida Writing Contest. She served as editor of the 2000-2001 NC State men’s basketball guide, which ranked seventh nationally and the 2002-03 publication that won the national award for “Best cover.” For the past four years, Vaughan has served on the NCAA's Final Four Media Coordination Committee in Minneapolis, Atlanta, New Orleans and San Antonio. Vaughan is also a member of the ACC’s Fan Sportsmanship Committee. Vaughan came to NC State from East Tennessee State University, where she served as Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations from 1994-98. At ETSU, Vaughan was responsible for overseeing the media relations activities for the 16-sport program. Prior to her stint at NC State, Vaughan was an Assistant Sports Information Director at Clemson University from 1989-94, working extensively with the football, men’s basketball, and the track and field programs. She also served as editor for many of Clemson’s award-winning media guides and game programs, including the 1992 football media guide, which was named "Best in the Nation" by CoSIDA. A native of Florence, S.C., Vaughan began her Sports Information career in 1986 as a student assistant at Clemson under legendary SID Bob Bradley. She also worked as a graduate assistant in the Clemson Sports Information Office from 1987-89. Vaughan graduated magna cum laude in 1987 with a degree in English and a minor in communications. She also completed coursework for a master’s degree in English. | |||||||||||
