Perhaps the finest ambassador of NC State athletics, Frank Weedon has been a part of the Wolfpack for 45 years. A former Senior Associate Director of Athletics, Weedon held an administrative post in the department for 23 years and he worked as the Pack's sports information director for 12 years.
Weedon has performed almost every duty imaginable during his tenure with the department. He now serves as the chief Wolfpack consultant and is regarded as the foremost authority on NC State athletic research projects and led the gathering of memorobilia for the Hall of Champions at the Murphy Football Center.
The Chairman of the Wolfpack's Celebration of 100 Years of Football in 1991, Weedon assisted in fundraising efforts for athletic facilities improvement, as part of the Wolfpack Pride Campaign. He also helped in the planning of the Carter-Finley Stadium expansion and the Entertainment & Sports Arena, which is now known as the RBC Center.
A native of Washington, D.C., Weedon served as the Pack's SID from 1960 through 1972. He came to State after serving as the assistant director of the Lehigh News Bureau from 1958-60.
Weedon earned his B.A. degree in journalism at Maryland in 1955 and then spent three years in the U.S. Army, serving 30 months in Europe. Weedon is married to the former Janice Nixon.
