
Women Fourth, Men Seventh at Wisconsin Invite

NC State turns in a strong performance in the biggest race of the regular season
MADISON, Wis. – The 12th-ranked NC State women's cross country team took fourth overall with 240 points, and the 17th-ranked men's team finished in seventh with 311 points, as the Wolfpack wrapped up the Wisconsin Invite with strong team showings.
PACK Running:
Despite the deep fields of 246 women and 244 men, the Wolfpack packed up well for the second straight meet. The men crossed the finish line in three groups of two, while the women had two runners in the lead group and a trio that trailed about 19 seconds behind the Pack's top two runners.
Pack On the Rise:
NC State posted victories over four women's teams and three men's teams that are ranked ahead of the Red and White in national standings. On Tuesday, NC State could move up in the USTFCCCA Coaches' Poll again.
Women's Championship Race:
Results

Samantha George led the women's team, finishing 13th with a time of 19:57.8. George sprinted into the lead pack, and maintained her place for the entire race.
Freshman Ryen Frazier also joined the lead pack in her first collegiate 6,000m race. Frazier ran up front for most of the race, finishing second in team standings and 38th overall with a time of 20:23.6.
Megan Moye moved up two spots in the team standings from the last race, as she crossed the finish line in 20:32.8 for third on the team and 54th overall. Erika Kemp and Rachel Koon rounded out the scoring spots to finish fourth (20:40.3) and fifth (20:42.4), respectively.
Men's Championships Race:

Sam Parsons and Meron Simon made huge pushes towards the front group between the 4,000m and 6,000m splits to help the Wolfpack to its seventh-place finish. The upperclassmen sprinted past almost 30 runners over 2,000m to work their way into the front group.
Parsons crossed the finish line in 23:50.3 for 15th overall, while Simon finished 23rd with a time of 23:54.1.
Sebastian Hanson and Bakri Abushouk were the Pack's third and fourth scorers. The duo crossed the finish in 53rd and 57th place, respectively.
Freshman Tanis Baldwin rounded out the scoring for the men, as he slashed nine seconds off his time from his first 8,000m race. Baldwin crossed the finish line in 24:51.7.
Fellow freshman Philip Hall ran in-uniform for the first time in his collegiate career. Hall finished just behind Baldwin with a time of 24:56.7. Earlier this season, the Fayetteville, N.C., native finished sixth at the adidas XC challenge, while running unattached.
Open Races:

After finishing third in at the open race at the Notre Dame Invite, Alyssa Rudawsky took fifth in today's open race. Rudawsky finished fifth overall with a time of 20:58.6. Bianca Bishop took 10th in the open race, crossing the finish line in 21:11.8.
On the men's side, Sam Roberson finished 25th in the men's open race with a time of 25:16.2.
