November 19, 2015
RALEIGH – On Sunday afternoon at Broughton High School's Holliday Gymnasium, Wolfpack fans will have the opportunity to watch great basketball and give back to their local community. NC State is joining forces with ACC rivals to fight hunger in North Carolina by participating in the Harris Teeter "Million Meals Challenge."
Wolfpack fans are encouraged to donate canned goods, paper products, and other household items to Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina representatives stationed in the main lobby beginning at 1 p.m. prior to NC State's November 22 game vs. Davidson.

The collaborative effort to provide one million meals for North Carolinians will be fueled by significant involvement on and off the respective campuses of NC State, Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Wake Forest, as well as through in-store food drives at area Harris Teeter locations. Harris Teeter's number one priority is eliminating hunger, and last year the Matthews, N.C.-based grocery chain donated more than $9.4 million and 5.5 million pounds of food to hundreds of nonprofit organizations that qualify through the Corporate Contributions guidelines.
Fighting hunger is one of NC State Athletics' identified core charitable initiatives, along with the fight against cancer, supporting education, and military appreciation. NC State Athletics' Guidelines for Charitable Initiatives can be found HERE.
