BEJING, - Ryan Hill crossed the finish line in 13:55.10 for seventh place in the 5,000m at the 2015 IAAF World Championships on Aug. 29. Hill improved his world place by three spots, further solidifying himself as a world force in the 5,000m.

The Hickory, N.C., native ran most of the race near the back, sitting in 14th place after the 4,000m split. Over the final 1000m, He cut 19 seconds off of his previous split and used a strong kick to pass seven athletes.

Mo Farrah won the race, crossing the finish line in 13:50.38, while fellow Americans Galen Rupp and Ben True finished fifth (13:53.90) and sixth (13:54.07), respectively.

In addition to his finish at the world championships, Hill wrapped up his 2015 season as the 2015 USATF 5,000m Champion.
