MADISON, Wis. - The third-ranked NC State women's cross country team finished second overall at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Friday after a strong team performance. The men's team finished 24th overall.
The invite is the biggest competition the Wolfpack has faced so far this season, and is widely considered as the closest equivalent to NCAA Championships because of the deep competition--the meet featured 17 top-30 women's teams and 19 top-30 men's teams, according to USTFCCCA rankings. This meet also marked the team's longest race of the season, formatted in 6k and 8k for the women and men, respectively.
