Distance specialist earned three wins in team victory over Wisconsin
GREENSBORO, N.C.- After a strong season debut in the Wolfpack's win over Wisconsin, Anton Ipsen of the NC State men's swimming and diving team has been named ACC Male Swimmer of the Week, as released by the conference office Thursday morning.

A junior from Birkerod, Denmark, the endurance speed specialist earned three wins over the weekend along with two NCAA 'B' cuts.

In the 1,650 freestyle he turned in a time of 14:57.57 to win the event by almost 20 seconds and notch a pool record. He also finished first in the 500 free with a pool record time of 4:23.83, and stopped the clock at 3:54.79 in the 400 IM to post the fastest time of the event.

His performances in the 500 and 1,650 free bettered the NCAA 'B' standard time in both events, while his 1,650 free time is currently No. 1 in the country and his 500 free and 400 IM times are top-five in the nation.Â

The Wolfpack men return to action Friday when they host Northwestern inside the Casey Aquatic Center at 5 p.m.
