#STATEMENT: Women's XC Finishes Fourth at NCAA Championship

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The NC State women's cross country team finished in fourth place at the NCAA Championships at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana on Saturday. Their finish tops last year's fifth place finish, and marks the Wolfpacks' second highest NCAA finish in history behind the 2001 runner-up finish. The men's team clinched a top-25 finish for the first time since 2011, finishing in 22nd place with 543 points.
Women's Race:
In the team race, only nine points separated the top three teams. Oregon took first place in an upset with 125 points, the ladies of Michigan finished in second place with 126 points and Colorado finished in third with 134 points. The Wolfpack rounded out the top four finishers to earn a spot on the podium with 223 points.
Individually, senior Erika Kemp led the Wolfpack women with a 17th place finish, completing the 6k race in 20:10.6. Rachel Koon finished close behind in 25th place with a time of 20:15.0. Both runners received All-American honors for finishing in the top 40. Wesley Frazier crossed the line in 47th place (20:29.8), Alyssa Rudawsky finished in 84th (20:46.4) and Ryen Frazier rounded out the NC State scorers in 115th (20:54.1). Redshirt senior Megan Moye finished her cross country career with a 117th place finish in 20:54.5 and Elly Henes raced in her first NCAA Championships as a true freshman, finishing in 159th place with a time of 21:06.4.
Men's Race:
With a score of 543, the NC State men finished in 22nd, improving from their 28th place finish at the 2015 Championships. Sam Parsons led the Pack with a 51st place finish in 30:33.9. Aubrey Myjer finished as the second Wolfpacker with a 98th place finish in 30:51.5. Patrick Sheehan placed 132nd (31:07.8), Sebastian Hanson placed 160th (31:19.3) and Ben Barrett rounded out the Wolfpack scorers with a 230th place finish (32:10.1). Philip Hall finished close behind in 237th place in 32:37.2. Elijah Moskowitz, who was injured during the race, finished in 243rd place in 32:55.9.

With the completion of the 2016 cross country season, the Wolfpack will now turn its attention to the indoor track season.
