NC State Opens Weekend at VT Challenge

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The NC State track and field team opened the weekend at the Virginia Tech Challenge. The Pack had five student-athletes compete and earned a pair of second-place finishes.

Long Jump:
Alexis Perry led a quartet of Wolfpack jumpers, finishing second in the long jump with a mark of 19'10.25". The mark is just short of her season best of 19'11.00", which ranks sixth in the ACC.

To round out the Wolfpack's entries, Amara Bell finished 10th (17'8.75"), Imari McLean 11th (17'7.50") and Javonne Antoine 12th (17'5.25").

Weight Throw:
In the men's weight throw, Joshua Davis added the Pack's next second-place finish of the night with a toss of 66'3.25". The weight throw school record holder has not finished lower than fifth in the event all season and earned his third second-place finish on the year tonight. His current PR of 68'6.00" ranks fourth in the ACC.

Up Next:
The Pack will be back in action tomorrow at the UCS Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., as its men's DMR team and distance runners aim for final ACC qualifying marks.
