RALEIGH – No. 38 NC State women's tennis prepares for its final two matches of the regular season, wrapping up its home slate Friday afternoon. Two Wolfpack seniors will take the home court for the final time Friday when the team hosts No. 27 Wake Forest on Senior Day before traveling to No. 64 Boston College Sunday for the 2016 season finale.
Â
NC State heads into its final week of regular-season play at No. 38 among the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) team rankings. The Pack currently carries four conference wins, doubling last season's total. As a result of its notable development, the team has maintained a double-digit improvement to its ranking throughout the entire 2016 season when compared to its one appearance at No. 69 in 2015.

CELEBRATING THE SENIORS:
Friday will serve as the annual Senior Day match as Joanna Nalborska and Taylor Zaytoun take the home court for the final time in their collegiate careers. Nalborska, who joined the Wolfpack in 2014 as a transfer from Louisiana Tech, has been a consistent performer at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles and doubles positions. She has led the team in conference doubles wins in each of her two seasons with the Pack, having tallied nine this season. Nalborska listed top-15 in the Carolina Region during the 2015 and 2016 seasons, maintaining the No. 13 rank throughout her senior season.
Â
Zaytoun's accomplishments off the court have illustrated the definition of hard-working student-athlete. Maintaining CAT Scholar Athlete status throughout each of her seven completed semesters at NC State, she was named to the All-ACC Academic team following the 2014-15 season and is currently in the top-10 of this year's CAT Scholar class of over 200 student-athletes. A four-year member of Pack women's tennis, Zaytoun is also a member of the elite University Honors program at NC State.
Â
SCOUTING WAKE FOREST:
Last season the unranked Wolfpack narrowly fell to the also unranked Demon Deacons. With both teams ranked in the top-40, the two squads bring improved play and a higher level of competition to this year's bout. With 18 wins on the season, eight have come over nationally-ranked opponents including No. 10 Virginia, however Wake dropped its first match of the month to No. 40 Syracuse, a team the Pack defeated 5-2 at its highest No. 24 ranking.

Â
The Demon Deacons travel to Raleigh with a couple of ranked players on the roster. No. 59 Kimmy Guerin has collected 15 wins at the No. 1 singles spot in the dual season. Guerin along with Anna Ulyashchenko make up the No. 53 doubles duo with just north of a .500 record that the Pack looks to even.
Â
SCOUTING BOSTON COLLEGE:
Boston College's No. 64 rank doesn't shy far from the No. 63 ranking it held last season when the Red and White was handed a 6-1 defeat by the Eagles. Now in the nation's top-40 with a healthier overall and conference record, Sunday's match entertains redemption potential. No. 70 Asiya Dair leads the BC roster, frequenting the No. 2 singles position. No. 1 singles performer Lexi Borr, along with Dair each hold losing records at the top of the line up.

SIMON SAYS:
"The ACC regular season is a long hard slog and we are now down to our last two games, tomorrow at home vs. Wake and then finishing up at Boston College Sunday. One of our main goals this whole season has been to play our best tennis and try to gain some momentum going into next week's ACC Tournament. First and foremost, tomorrow's match against a very good Wake team is to honor our two seniors Taylor and Joanna. They've both been integral to our team and the progress we have made this season. I'd expect nothing less than a stellar performance from all the girls in light of that and I'm sure we will be playing with a lot of extra emotion knowing the significance of this particular match. Go Pack!" – Simon Earnshaw, head coach

The 2016 ACC Championship begins April 20. Details on Wolfpack match times and opponents will be announced following the conclusion of the regular season.
