
Wolfpack Freshman, Signee to Compete at USATF Juniors

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State track and field freshman Gabriele Cunningham and signee Lauren White will be in action June 24-26 at the USATF Junior Championships at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, Calif.
Cunningham and White will both open the meet with the 100m dash first round. Cunningham will also compete in the 100m hurdles.
100m:
Cunningham holds a mark of 11.64 and White has a seed time of 11.72. Both seeds are ranked top-15 in the event.
This season Cunningham quickly developed into one of the squad's top sprinters and finished the year with All-ACC honors in the 100m dash.
As a senior, White competed with Rolesville High School and earned silver medals at the NCHSAA 4A Championships in the long jump and 100m dash. White also has experience competing on a national stage and is making her second career appearance at the USATF Juniors. She recently competed at the Brooks PR Invitational, finishing fourth against an elite field of athletes.
100m Hurdles:
Following the 100m dash opening round, Cunningham will be back in action with the 100m hurdles first round on Saturday. The Charlotte, N.C., native shaved more than a second off her PR from the beginning of the season. She enters with a seed time of 13.83.
