Hidlay Wins Multiple Wrestler of the Week Honors

R-Fr. scores two top-10 wins, jumps to No. 3 in the rankings
RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State redshirt-freshman Hayden Hidlay made a national #STATEment this past week, coming up with a pair of top-10 wins.
For his efforts, Hidlay was named the national wrestler of the Week by both FloWrestling and TheOpenMat, and he was also named co-ACC Wrestler of the Week – the second straight week he won the conference's top honor.
Hidlay, from Lewistown, Pa., wrestling at 157 pounds, was undefeated in six matches, bringing his record on the year to 13-0 on the season. He helped lead NC State to a dominant 29-3 win over the 12th-ranked Cornhuskers on Friday night, then won five straight bouts to capture the individual title at the Reno Tournament of Championships in Reno, Nevada, on Sunday.
Against Nebraska, Hidlay scored a 6-3 victory over seventh-ranked Tyler Berger. He then took down the nation's second-ranked wrestler with a 3-1 sudden victory triumph over Missouri's Joey Lavallee in the 157-pound championship of the Reno Tournament.
