
Pack to Send 20 to NCAA East Preliminary Meet

The NC State Track & Field team will send 20Â competitors to the preliminary round of the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships. The Wolfpack contingent will complete in 16Â different events in Lexington, Ky., from Thursday, May 25 through Saturday, May 27, for a chance to qualify for the NCAA finals in Eugene, Or.

Two Wolfpack sprinters  - freshmen Cravont Charleston and Dylan Peebles – will compete in three different events.

The MVP of the 2017 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, freshman sensation Cravont Charleston, will run the 100, 200 and 4x100 in the men's competition. Charleston's 100m time of 10.07 ranks seventh in the region heading into the meet.

Peebles, son of nine-time Wolfpack All-American Danny Peebles, will compete in the 200m and the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays.

Dual-sport star Nyheim Hines will run the 100m and 4x100, while freshman Junpai Dowdy will run in both the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays. The Wolfpack's 4x100m squad, which won the ACC title last week, has posted the region's seventh-best mark: 39.14

Senior Sam Parsons heads into the meet with the region's sixth-best time in the 10,000m (28.43.74). Teammate Eli Moskowitz will also run the 10k.

Four members of the Wolfpack women's team will run the 5000 meters: Ryen Frazier, Elly Henes, Erika Kemp and Rachel Koon. Kemp boasts the second-fastest regional mark at 15:41.23. She will also run the 10,000m.
Sophomore Gabriele Cunningham will compete in the 100 meters and 100 meter hurdles, while Megan Moye is one of the top regional qualifiers in the women's 1500m, with the seventh-best mark: 4:15.59.
