    EDUCATION:

    Earned a B.A in health education and received a minor in psychology from Kent State in 1971.

    PERSONAL:

    Married to the former Betty Springs, one of the finest runners in NC State history, as she was inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame in 2003. They have two children, Rachel and Trey, both of whom attend NC State.
