  • Named an assistant coach at NC State in spring of 2012.
  • Helped sign a pair of top-rated recruiting classes. In 2013, the Pack's signees were ranked: No. 4 according to D1collegewrestling, No. 10 by both WIN Magazine and InterMat, No. 13 by the Open Mat/AWN and No. 14 by Flo Wrestling. In 2014, the Pack's was cited No. 19 by FloWrestling, No. 20 by TheOpenMat.com, and No. 25 by InterMat.
  • Kelly was as an assistant coach at California-Poly, helping the Mustangs send four wrestlers to the NCAA Championships, two of which earned All-America honors.
  • In 2004, Kelly won the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials wrestling at 66kg (145.5 lbs) to represent the U.S. at the Olympics in Athens, Greece. He went on to win a Silver medal.
  • Traveled to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, and served as part of the support staff for USA Wrestling.
  • One of the three Team USA coaches for the 2013 FILA Cadet Freestyle World Championships, traveled to Zrenjanin, Serbia.
  • Wrestled for Oklahoma State and was a two-year starter as well as team captain. He finished second at the 2000 Big 12 Conference championships.
  • Named the 2012-13 Social Media Assistant Coach of the Year by Elite Level Sport Marketing (ELSM) and the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).
