Rifle Wins SEARC, Martin Claims Individual Title

CHARLESTON, S.C. - For the third consecutive year, the NC State rifle team won the Southeastern Air Rifle (SEARC) Conference Championship. The 2014 squad accomplished the feat at The Citadel's rifle range in Charleston, S.C. on Saturday.
The Wolfpack finished first with a team score of 2322, headlined by State's individual shooters ending in first, second and third. Sophomore Alex Martin was the individual champion, followed by freshman Lucas Kozeniesky and senior Madeline Pike.
It was the fifth consecutive year that an NC State shooter has won the individual title dating back to the 2010 season.
Pike led the way at the match with a score of 583. Kozeniesky charted a score of 582, while Alex Martin and Amy Roderer shot scores of 580 and 577, respectively. Cliff shot a 575 and Lee Price and George Williams each fired a 570.
Cliff, Kozeniesky, Martin, Pike and Roderer were all named to the All-SEARC Team for their performance at the championship.
NC State has now completed its season slate, finishing with a record of 35-9 overall, 25-0 SEARC and 0-7 GARC.
