Rifle Wins SEARC II, Places Fourth at The Citadel
Oct. 9, 2011 CHARLESTON, S.C. - NC State remained undefeated in SEARC competition after taking first place at the SEARC II meet. The No. 18 Pack also placed fourth at The Citadel Invitational. The SEARC II and The Citadel Invitational were combined into one meet, with six SEARC teams shooting air rifle for the SEARC II part of the meet, and seven NCAA programs shooting both smallbore and air rifle to make up The Citadel Invitational. In the SEARC part of the competition, the Pack competed against The Citadel, Clemson, Georgia Military, Wofford, and North Georgia. NC State also faced No. 2 TCU, No. 16 Columbus State, and No. 6 Jacksonville State in The Citadel Invitational portion of the match. Dani Foster led the team in her first collegiate meet, placing 12th in smallbore with a score of 563 and ninth in air rifle with a score of 580, for a combined score of 1143. William Teller was the second-best performer of the weekend for the Pack, shooting 555 in smallbore and 572 in air rifle for a score of 1127. Madeline Pike turned in a solid performance for NC State, firing a 561 in both smallbore and air rifle for a combined score of 1122. Bryan Cross was fourth on the team, shooting a 552 smallbore and turning in a 568 air rifle for a score of 1120.
