Jacksonville, Ala. -- The No. 18 NC State rifle team was topped by No. 9 Memphis at the Gamecock Open on Sunday. NC State combined for a team score of 4561.
"The team score of 4561 in the third highest score this year for the Pack, and is a good point to build on as we end the fall portion of our season," said head coach Keith Miller.
Dani Foster fired a personal best 565 in smallbore, and achieved a total score of 1146, also a personal record.
"This was another solid outing by Dani, although she is still not close to her potential," said Miller. "She's really going to give us some good scores one we fine tune a few aspects of her performance."
Following Foster was Bryan Cross, who shot 565 in smallbore and 576 in air rifle for a combined score of 1141. William Teller shot 566 in smallbore and 572 in air rifle for a total of 1138.
Madeline Pike fired a smallbore personal best of 568, as well as a 568 in air rifle for a combined score of 1136. Martha Hall finished with a total of 1100 while Amy Roderer shot a 1083.
NC State will return to action Jan. 15, against Ole Miss and the Citadel in Oxford, Miss.
