Pack Rifle Concludes Regular Season Slate This Weekend

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State rifle team will conclude its regular season slate this weekend when it travels to West Point, N.Y., for a pair of Great America Rifle Conference matches against Army and Nebraska. The Wolfpack will compete against the No. 6 Black Knights on Friday, Feb. 7 before returning to the range on Saturday to take on the fifth-ranked Cornhuskers.
The Wolfpack (20-7, 0-5 GARC) is coming off a bye week, but finished first at The Citadel Invitational in its last outing on Jan. 26. Freshman Lucas Kozeniesky led the way for the Pack in the match, firing a 585 in the air rifle competition and a 576 in smallbore.
Army enters Friday's contest with a 4-4 record on the season, including a 2-3 mark in GARC matches. The Black Knights defeated the Navy Midshipmen in their last outing, winning by a score of 5800-5783 (five counting shooters).
The Nebraska Cornhuskers were edged by No. 1 Kentucky, 4680-4659, their last time out. The squad has compiled an 8-2 record to this point in the season, including a 3-2 mark in GARC competition.
Action on Friday against Army is slated to begin at 3 p.m. EST, while Saturday's match will get underway at 7 a.m. EST versus Nebraska.
