Rifle Readies for SEARC Championships on Saturday

RALEIGH, N.C. - After winning the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference (SEARC) Championship the past two seasons, the NC State rifle team will to make it three in a row on Saturday when it competes in the 2014 SEARC Championship held in Charleston, S.C. Action will begin at 8 a.m. inside the Inuoye Marksmanship Center on The Citadel's campus.
The Wolfpack has claimed the championships crown at the event seven times in program history and has won three of the last four. State captured the program's first title in 2004 and then again in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013.
Last season senior Madeline Pike extended the streak of NC State shooters winning the top individual honor to four, after Pack shooters garnered the award in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
The squad compiled a score of 2329 at last year's championships.
Its last time out, the Wolfpack finished third at the Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) Championships with an aggregate total of 4603, led by Pike's season high of 592 in air rifle.
