GREENSBORO, N.C. - The NC State men's swimming team broke the school record in the 200 medley relay at the 2013 ACC Championships on Wednesday.
"Congrats to our 200 medley relay team for getting us off to a good start and breaking the school record in the event," said head coach Braden Holloway. "The guys stepped it up and executed some good races."
Ivan Kopas, Ian Bishop, Barrett Miesfeld and Joe Martin teamed up to finish fourth in the event with a time of 1:26.48. That mark broke the previous school record of 1:26.88 and was good for an NCAA "B" standard.
In the only other event of the day, the Pack finished ahead of Virginia in the 800 freestyle relay, but was disqualified for entering the pool without permission.
Day two action at the ACC Championships will begin at 11 a.m. with preliminary heats, followed by finals starting at 7 p.m. Live video will be available for the finals by clicking HERE.
