Wolfpack Posts Strong Results on Day Two of NCAA's

AUSTIN, Texas - The NC State men's swimming team had seven members secure All-American honors Friday, as the squad completed day two of action at the 2014 NCAA Championships.
Through two days of action, the Wolfpack is in 16th overall with 56.5 points. Texas (318.5) continues to lead, while California (312.5), Florida (279), Michigan (225) and Georgia (200) round out the top five.
NC State finished 12th overall in the 200 medley relay, as Andreas Schiellerup, Ian Bishop, Barrett Miesfeld and David Williams teamed up to finish the event with a finals time of 1:25.61. The group claims honorable mention All-American honors with the finish.
Miesfeld also competed in the 100 butterfly for the final time in his collegiate career, as the senior finished 16th overall with a finals time of 47.01. With the finish, Miesfeld concludes his career with honorable mention All-American honors in the event.
The quartet of Jonathan Boffa, Simonas Bilis, Williams and Matt Thomas finished eighth overall in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 6:18.40. The finish was the highest of any ACC school in the event and the quartet finishes with All-American honors in the event.
Christian McCurdy competed in the 400 individual medley, finishing 27th overall with a time of 3:47.34.
Returning to his hometown of Austin, Texas, Bishop competed in the 100 breaststroke for the final time in his career, as he finished 31st with a time of 53.76.
Schiellerup competed in the 100 backstroke, where he finished 28th overall with a time of 46.93. In addition, Stephen Coetzer competed in the event and tapped the wall in 46.97 to finish 30th overall.
The Wolfpack will conclude the 2014 NCAA Championships on Saturday with preliminaries set to begin at noon and the finals session set to start at 8 p.m. ET.
