RALEIGH, N.C. - Twenty members of the NC State swim team competed at the Charlotte UltraSwim Grand Prix this past weekend in an attempt to secure spots at the Olympic trials. Ivan Kopas, Jonathan Boffa and Joe Martin hit Olympic standards at the meet, Kopas in the 100 backstroke, Boffa in the 100 freestyle and Martin in the 50 freestyle.

Kopas achieved the Olympic trials standard in the 100 backstroke, just dipping under the qualifying cut of 57.59 with his time of 57.55.
Boffa hit his second Olympic trials cut in the 100 freestyle, swimming a time of 51.49. He also achieved the standard at this same meet last year.
Martin dipped under the Olympic trials standard in the 50 freestyle. He swam a time of 23.48 in the preliminaries of that event, making the cut by .01 seconds.
Marifrances Henley, who already has an Olympic trials cut in the 100 freestyle, just missed achieving the standard in the 50 freestyle. She swam a time of 26.52 in the preliminaries of that event, just .13 seconds off of the cut. Henley also competed in the 100 and 200 freestyle events.
