    Swimming & Diving Concludes Day Three at European SC Championships

    HERNING, Denmark – Members of the NC State swimming & diving team completed day three of action Saturday at the European Short Course Championships at the Jyske Bank BOXEN.

    Freshman Andreas Schiellerup competed in the 100 backstroke, an event he established a new school record earlier this season, and reached the semifinals with a time of 52.07 in the preliminaries. In the semis, Schiellerup finished 12th with a personal best time of 51.98.

    In addition, Schiellerup was part of the 200 free mixed relay team and led off the event in the preliminaries with a time in 22.00, as the team from Denmark finished fifth with a time of 1:32.53.

    On the women’s side, freshman Lotta Nevalainen finished 31st in the 50 backstroke, tapping the wall in 28.82.

    Competing in the men’s 1500 freestyle, Anton Ipsen, a 2014 incoming freshman, finished 17th of 38 swimmers with a time of 14:59.60.

    The championships will conclude on Sunday with preliminaries set to begin at 9 a.m. local time, while finals are set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
