Willis R. Casey Aquatics Center
Both the NC State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams have the use of one of the nicest aquatics facilities in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
NC State’s Willis R. Casey Aquatics Center has been the site of many ACC Championship meets over the years. It offers one of the fastest championship pools in the conference. The facility features two pools and spectacular seating for approximately 1,000 fans.
The Wolfpack swimming and diving facility is another example of NC State’s commitment to athletic excellence.
The facility is named after Willis R. Casey, head swimming coach at NC State for 22 years beginning in 1946. During his stay as coach, State compiled a 183-29 overall mark. That .863 winning percentage helped propel the Wolfpack program into the national spotlight. In all, Casey produced 33 All-Americans, collected 11 conference titles (nine in the ACC), and won a miraculous AAU national title with just four swimmers. Casey began a women's program long before other schools began to think of such a thing, and graduated every student-athlete that competed under his tenure. Casey also served as Director of Athletics at NC State, and is an enshrined member of both the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame and North Carolina Swimming Hall of Fame.
