NC State swimming and diving will host Virginia in its final home meet of the season this Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center on campus. The first diving event will begin at 9:20 a.m., with the second event set to start at 10:20 a.m. The swimming portion of the meet will kick off at 11 a.m.
The Wolfpack returns to action after falling to No. 12 North Carolina at home last week before sweeping Old Dominion on the road over the weekend. Against ODU, the Pack took first in 22 of 32 events.
Brandon Kingston was named ACC Performer of the Week following his contributions last week. He competed in five individual events across two different meets, taking first place every single time. Against UNC, Kingston claimed both the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, before placing first in three swims at ODU.
Kingston is the second Wolfpack swimmer to be named ACC Performer of the Week in the past month. Women's swimmer Julianna Prim took the honor on Jan. 18.
Wolfpack men's relays have hit NCAA "B" cut qualifying standards in both the 200-freestyle relay and 800-freestyle relay events, while all four divers have qualified for NCAA diving zones.
The NC State men own a 6-2 (3-2 ACC) record on the year, while the Wolfpack women stand at 7-2 (3-2 ACC).
The Virginia men are ranked 10th in the nation in the latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America top-25 poll, and currently lead the ACC with a 7-1 (2-0 ACC) record. The Cavalier women, ranked 11th nationally, stand second in the ACC with a 5-2 (2-0 ACC) clip.
