    ACC Diving, Women's Swimming Championships Begin Wednesday
     
     
    RALEIGH, N.C. NC State women’s swimming, as well as both the men’s and women’s divers, will take off to College Park, Md. for competition at the ACC Championships, Feb. 18-Feb. 21.     The Wolfpack women earned conference victories over Miami and Georgia Tech earlier in the season. Erica Smith also set new school records in both the 100- and 200-backstroke, while Ashley Richter (50-, 100-, 200 freestyle), Patrice Dason (100 butterfly, 100 backstroke), Meg Thompson (100 butterfly), Katie Robinson (100 backstroke), Jessica Ward (100 breaststroke, 200 IM) and Maresa Like-Mathews (400 IM) have all posted top-10 all-time times in several events across the board.

    Smith, Anna Linkenauger, Dason and Richter also set a new school record in the 400-medley relay, while posting the second fastest ever mark in the 200-medley relay. Richter, Thompson, Danielle Caruso and Dason posted the second-best all-time mark in the 200 freestyle relay, while Dason, Lucy Lindsey, Brianna Grover and Richter offered the third-fastest all-time mark in the 400 freestyle relay.

    On the diving end, all five Wolfpack men’s and women’s divers have qualified for at least one event at the NCAA diving zones. Kristin Davies is already the school record holder in the women’s platform dive, while Austin Hampton owns all but one men’s diving record in school history. Andy Johnson continues to hold the 1-meter (11 dive) record with a score of 547.30.
