RALEIGH, N.C. - Just a year after taking the reins as head coach of the NC State swimming and diving program, Braden Holloway has already taken the Wolfpack's recruiting to a new level. In the annual CollegeSwimming.com recruiting rankings, released on Monday, the incoming women's class is ranked No. 23.
The Wolfpack will welcome two foreigners in the fall, Anne Leuthold of Dresden, Germany, and Olivia Bello of Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada. Leuthold, who is ranked No. 49 by the website, will make an immediate impact in the butterfly events for NC State, while Bello will contribute in the freestyle events.
Bello and flyer Kayla Skenandore, out of Waukesha, Wisconsin, are both ranked No. 128. Sprinter Erika Bonnema, of Orlando, Florida, is the Pack's fourth top-200 recruit, coming in at No. 174.
Freestyler Mariah Hamil of Fort Wayne, Ind., is the final out of state commitment for the Pack. Also joining the program will be four North Carolinians- Raleigh natives Hayley Tomlinson and Kristin Connors, and Charlotte residents Payton Schrum and Ashley Koletic.
Tomlinson and Schrum will compete in breaststroke and individual medley events, while Conors and Koletic will participate in the freestyle events.
